This Frisco home has seventeen windows fitted with mushroom zebra shades in two fabrics. We used the Marsh fabric, from our blackout zebra line, in two bedrooms, where a darker room helps at night, and the Lebanon fabric, a light-filtering zebra, everywhere else.

The two Marsh bedrooms each have three windows. In one of them, the three windows sit side by side under a fixed arch, which stays uncovered. With the shades closed, the solid bands block the light and the room gets much darker. What you get is room darkening: some light still comes through the sheer bands and around the edges. Lining the sheer bands back up brings the daylight back.

Lebanon was installed in the primary bedroom, the breakfast nook and the remaining bedrooms. In one of those bedrooms, the shade sits under a lace valance.

Sixteen windows were installed in one visit in February 2026. The last one was installed on a second visit, once its fabric arrived.
