This McKinney project started as an online request, and by the time we visited, the owner already knew the rooms that mattered: the master bedroom, a second bedroom, and a home office with three windows side by side on one wall. Twelve windows in total, and the office was the one with the real problem, because three windows in a row put a lot of sun on a desk.
The bedrooms got zebra shades in warm neutrals. The master received Independence in beige on its wide window, and the second bedroom got Lebanon in ivory on a pair of windows, both fitted inside the frame so the trim stays visible. Rolled open they keep the rooms bright. Rolled closed they give the privacy a bedroom needs.
The office received Campbell, a darker fabric with more body, on all three windows as a matched set. With the bands overlapped the direct sun is off the desk, and because it is still a zebra shade the owner can roll it to a lighter setting when the sun moves off that side of the house.
Twelve shades, measured on site and installed in a single visit in February 2026. Two rooms for rest, one room for work, and the fabric in each chosen for what the room does.
