This Mansfield home was brand new when we measured it, with a mattress still on the floor and boxes in the hallway. That is the best moment to do windows. The rooms are empty, every opening is reachable, and the shades are in before the first night in the house instead of weeks after.

The owner wanted the whole house done in one product so every room would work the same way, with a light shift in tone between the living spaces and the bedrooms. We used zebra shades throughout. The living room and the breakfast nook received Lebanon in ivory, a bright neutral that keeps the daytime rooms open and matches the white trim. The master bedroom and the two secondary bedrooms received Hebron in mushroom, a warmer grey-beige that softens the light where people sleep.

Zebra shades give this house its range. Rolled open, the sheer bands align and the windows are essentially clear. Rolled a few inches, the solid bands overlap and the glare is gone. Rolled fully down, the room has privacy. Fifteen windows in all, each measured to its opening and installed in a single visit in February 2026.

By the time the furniture arrived, the windows were already finished, and the two fabrics give the house a quiet distinction between the rooms you live in and the rooms you rest in.
